My new youtube channel Wok With Len does not have access to some youtube features like adding a custom thumbnail, video streaming, and uploading of 15min videos yet. I've been trying to fix it but haven't found the latest instructions on how to do it. Are you having the same issues? Nothing to worry here, all you have to do is to verify your YouTube account. Google will send you a verification code to a phone number either through a text message or voicemail.
Here are updated steps (as of February 2021) on how you can verify your YouTube account:
Steps:
1. Log in to your YouTube account using a computer, click your profile logo in the top right-hand corner then click Settings.
2. From here, click "Channel status and features" link
3. On the pop up screen, it will show you all of the YouTube features that are available and whether or not you have access to them. Under "Feature eligibility" tab select click the drop-down button on "Features that require phone verification"
4. Select "Text me the verification code" and enter your mobile phone number
5. Check your mobile phone for the code and enter the 6 digit verification code on the screen then submit
Congrats! Your youtube account is now verified! You can now edit a custom thumbnail, try video streaming, and upload 15min long videos on your channel.
